A serie of 1:1 scale reproductions of the reliefs found in the backyard of the Ave Maria School. Situated in Arnao, on the northwest coast of Spain, the school was created in 1913 by the Real Compañía Asturiana de Minas to be part of an industrial micro-society composed of a coal mine, a zinc factory, a group of houses, a mansion, a supermarket, the workers and owners of the company. The reliefs were used to teach geometry, geography and grammar to the workers’ children and are an unique example of the didactic vocation of industrial paternalism.
